7 Punk Rock Weddings for the Badass Bride

Maybe you’re the bride who loves pastel pink and white doves flying out of a cake, but if you’re a badass bride looking to shake things up, these 7 punk rock weddings are your cup of tea! It’s possible that I’m still on a punk rock high from our latest industry event—an intense 80’s grunge rock installation that was a part of The Jam at the Orchid Farm in Goleta, CA. We dressed to match and let’s just say that I was in punk heaven! I got a taste for how alternative brides must feel when they are surrounded by “pretty” and “sweet”. Like, what if you want broken glass and graffiti on your special day?? Below are some images from our event and this got me inspired to write a post about punk rock weddings and how they might inspire the bride looking for something different.

1. Faux-hawks & Tulle

You don’t have to wear a leather dress to still look punk-fab at your wedding. This bride chose a stunning tulle and long-sleeve gown that was the perfect contrast to her studded jacket and gray hair. Her groom was dressed in all black with a jacket to match and attitude for days. But even rocker girls have a girlie spot! Pink bubbly and a blackberry cake was served, adding the right touch of elegance to an otherwise perfectly punk day.  >>See more here

2. Vegas & Sequins

Think Vegas weddings are too cliché for your style? Check out this insanely cool Las Vegas elopement with a couple who wanted something different for their photo book. Her pink hair and high-low sequin gown were too cute walking (or should I say dancing) down the isle next to Elvis, and his beard and studded white suit were both too cool for school. This wedding proves that tacky can not only be amazingly rad, but also pretty badass. >>See more here

3. Lace & Leather

Some brides want to ride away in a horse drawn carriage, but if that’s not your style try a cafe racer instead! This glam yet edgy bride shows us that lace + leather make one hell of a combo, and pink doesn’t have to be just for girlie girls! Blush pink is accentuated here with rose gold, black and marble for the ultimate grunge look that won’t be in “Traditional Bride Magazine” anytime soon! And psst.. check out those invites 😉  >>See more here

4. Studs & Roses

If you’re looking for just an accent of rocker-girl to add to your big day, this wedding pulls it off perfectly! Start with dark and deep red florals that will set the mood and tone down the traditional “red rose” look. Invitations that mimic tiny records and a studded lace bouquet wrap are a few other details that add to this modern yet retro rock theme. Finish your look off with a simple leather jacket and jet black shoes! >>See more here

5. Simple & Dark

If you love the modern industrial look but want to push the boundaries a bit with a punk rock vibe, check out this simple yet elegant wedding! White and black accents stand out among natural wood and greenery and tall candles complete the moody look. Keep things classy with a white dress and cake, but feel free to add studs and leather or metal to any part of your venue or design! >>See more here

6. Whiskey & Rock

Did you think a tutu was just for ballerinas? Think again! This punk bride captured her unique look with tulle, black boots and a skull-fabric bouquet. But that’s not even the best part about this retro rock wedding! Their day featured a candy bar, a Rolling Stones cake and a whiskey & cigar bar that looked like the set piece from Mad Men. So get creative with your punk rock theme and add some unexpected flair to your party. >>See more here

7. Moody & Elegant

I had to finish with this stunningly moody bride and her pitch black lace dress. Sometimes I wish I could got back to my perfect winter wedding and show up in a black dress for no reason! But in another life perhaps. If you just want the moody vibes without the whole rock theme, this look is for you! A black dress immediately sets the theme for your “this is not your grandmother’s wedding” day. >>See more here
