Love at the Goodland Hotel
This post is all about our styled shoot featuring rustic modern Santa Barbara wedding invitations. If you haven’t heard of the Goodland Hotel in Goleta, California, you’re missing out. It’s a seriously cool place that rivals the Ace Hotel in Palm Springs.. another hip place these days. But while you’d expect a classic seaside escape while you’re on the rugged coast of Santa Barbara, you’ll get no such thing at the Goodland. Here you’ll find rustic references and decor that looks like it should be in a boutique-like hotel in Santa Fe, New Mexico. And what better a place for two love birds to get hitched, tie the knot, or say the old ‘I do’s’.
Tweed and lace, a golden combination, adorns this couple as they steal a kiss on the patio, play with the vintage records and cuddle up next to the perfectly-placed airstream trailer. Her bouquet is a trend-setting collaboration of all greenery and allows the focus to be on the color of the venue. Her dress, a vintage inspired silhouette, features hand-beaded sections, delicate lace and the most insanely long full circle train.
The invitation suite, designed by yours truly, is a modern take on a southwestern theme. Kraft envelopes and white calligraphy are a perfect match, while Ikat print washi tape and a matching envelope liner add to the rustic romance. To top off the presentation, a leather cord was wrapped around the suite and adorned with a tiny golden arrow. A minimalistic map tells guests where to go, along with coffee and dining recommendations for the area. Colored paint strokes and dark accents complete this suite, fit for the modern yet stylish couple.
